One of the truly wonderful things about Lincoln is that hardly a week goes by without some excellent entertainment to be had among its cobbled streets and vibrant cultural venues.
Next month is no exception as the County welcomes big names from the world of Jazz to participate in The Lincolnshire Jazz Week - a nine-day celebration of jazz music featuring UK and international acts from 6 – 14 May across the county. What’s more, most of the City based performances are going to be in venues just a short stroll away from The Lincoln House at Wordsworth St including The Collection, Lincoln Drill Hall, Lincoln Performing Arts Centre and Lincoln Cathedral.
Many of the acts will be performing free of charge including Snake David, one of the UK's leading saxophonists who will be playing with the LPAC House Band led by Stevie Smith playing popular swinging numbers. They will be kicking the festival off on 6th May at Zing Bar at LPAC, 5pm - 7pm, free.
Other internationally acclaimed artists will be there such as Clare Teal, the award-winning musician who is a regular presenter on BBC Radio 2. She will be performing contemporary covers of her heroes alongside witty storytelling and is appearing at
Lincoln Performing Arts Centre on13th May, 7:30pm, all tickets £20.
A full timetable of acts and venues can be found here.
The Lincoln Jazz Festival is organised in association with Lincoln BIG, Arts Council England, and EMJAZZ.
